Lena Reiner

27 Menschen, 27 Tage: Afghanistan, Nov. 2022

Lena Reiner, and she ventured into photography as a side business and freelance work at the end of 2009 (at that time during her studies). Her subjects were and are people – preferably just as they are. Her favorite genres are therefore portrait photography (in the sense of character studies, as seen in her portrait portfolio) and reportage (from cultural events to births).

Since 2011, she has also been active as a journalist. Her articles can be found in publications such as Südkurier, taz, Jungle World, nd, Zeit online (exceptionally), t-online (equally exceptionally), focus online, and on the platform “Report vor Ort,” which she operates with her colleague Niklas Golitschek. In 2017, she co-founded the association Frühlingserwachen e.V., which advocates for social cohesion in all its diversity, and has been a board member since then.

In August 2022, she received the wonderful opportunity to essentially turn her previous volunteer work in the social sector into her main profession: She is responsible for women’s work at Patenschaftsnetzwerk Ortskräfte e.V., organizes information events, and accompanies individual women through the challenges of their daily lives and their integration into German society. Since then, her camera has been used much less frequently.

However, she remains available for bookings.
