Kristen Tordella-Williams<\/a> is continually searching for new mediums and processes with which to express complex ideas and engage with difficult, sometimes painful histories. Initiated by the provocation of a specific place, historical event, or experience, her projects evolve and grow through a combination of careful research and artistic intuition.
Tordella-Williams aims to express the imperfect, fragmentary nature of history, to upend assumptions and to challenge power structures. She often combines old and new technologies to make overt connections between past and present through her methods and materials.
