Judy Stone is a Washington DC area artist who works in a variety of media including sculpture, drawing, installation, video, and performance. In her recent work, her drawings on paper expand onto walls, floors, and ceilings, creating immersive geometric environments that include neon, video, platforms, stairs, and industrial materials such as mirrors and artificial turf.Stone’s drawings depict spaces of condensed anxiety that reveal the tension between psychological structures and freedom. These structures are found on glass, walls, floors, windows, ceilings, and paper media such as scientific grid sheets, account books, targets.Her work is in private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad.\u201c\u2026there is a huge gift given by the Eastern philosophies in the idea of interconnectedness, interdependency.
